A Lesson On Showing Up
We have over 60,000 thoughts a day and over 90% of them are repetitive. So how do we change them?
60,000 thoughts a day mean roughly 2500-3000 thoughts per hour, which is roughly 50 thoughts a minute which breaks down to about a thought per second.
Each and every one of our thoughts dictate how we feel and how we view the world. Our thoughts are product of our environment and actions, as our environment and actions are also a result of what we are thinking. Meaning if we can change our thoughts we can change our outcomes and how view and live life.
Recently for my 30th birthday, I decided to gift myself a 40 day Sadahna.
Sadahna is a spiritual daily practice that can be in the form of mantra, asana(yoga) which evokes self realization and divinity or whatever your intention may be.
In 2019, I got a portrait of Lakshimi tattooed on my left arm. Lakshimi is a Hindu goddess of abundance and beauty. I grew up training martial arts, so this was a reminder for me to tap into my Divine Femininity.
I'm not exactly sure when it happened, but sometime along the way of living a nomadic life, I started living in scarcity- I lost belief in myself and normal things like getting groceries, paying a phone bill and saving money all seemed impossible or more difficult then it needed to be. This also translated into my jiu jitsu competition which resulted in me losing a bulk of my matches in that time frame.
Granted training hard got me back to winning competitions again, but turning 30 I wanted more than to just win competitions, I wanted to thrive and be truly abundant and not have any worries in life.
So what does Sadahna and Lakshmi have to do with any of it?
